Looking ahead to the Indoor season in October 2020
We have recently received advice and instructions from the EIBA and approved by the government with regards to re-opening indoors ensuring we implement precise covid-19 precautions for everyone's safety.
In general terms we need hand sanitisers, one way systems, entrance and exit plans. Players should arrive in bowls clothes and change shoes at rink side.
Records of players in attendance should be kept for 21 days.
good ventilation is essential and face masks should be worn.
Playing equipment ie. mats and jacks are to be sanitised before and after games and the jack placed by foot by an appointed person.
Social distancing is imperative everywhere and drawn plans will be displayed for guidance when players are at each end or changing ends.
These are the outline of the rules and suggestions AT THE MOMENT but hopefully as time progresses some of these may be relaxed !!
I'm sure after what seems a lifetime in lockdown there is only so much gardening, maintenance or DIY that can be done so surely it is time to think about returning to our beloved bowling......
We are therefore asking as many members, players and captains for their views on returning for the new indoor season.
If you can please indicate your opinions to one of the contacts below, if your team or yourself/partner will be participating in any league, friendlies, competitions or roll-ups or whether you think otherwise !
The feedback we receive will help the committee decide how we will proceed in the coming few months.
Bodmin Bowls Club has an excellent all year facility consisting of a 6 rink OUTDOOR green which can be extended to play 7 rinks if required. There is also a superb INDOOR green consisting of 4 rinks which can also accommodate an extra rink if required. There is a very large parking area and seating for spectators.
As well as the playing areas we have a fully licensed bar & seating for 60 people, allowing social evenings for members & their guests with quiz nights & bingo just a few of the events frequently held.
The club is open all year except for a few bank holidays. The OUTDOOR season is approx the middle of April to the middle of September. There are leagues and competitions that appeal to all standards of players from friendlies through to County & National level.
Touring teams are always welcome, we offer very friendly games both Indoor & Outdoor. Please call for details.
There is a club coach available to advise & assist you if required.
Visitors are welcome to come & try and see if they would like to play & join the club.
